The Teachers’ Recognition Ceremony (TRC) held on 3rd November 2024 at the prestigious Water’s Edge was a remarkable event that celebrated excellence and dedication of the teachers of Zahira College. The event was graced by distinguished guests, esteemed educators, and the supportive college community.

The ceremony was honored by the presence of Mr. Reyaz Mihular, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. His insights on leadership and excellence in professional fields were truly inspiring. Mr. Rizmi Riyal, Chairman of The Traveller, officiated the event as the Guest of Honor, adding value to the ceremony.

The most celebrated event, presided over by Principal Trizvi Marikkar was organized by Zahira College under the Chairmanship of Mr.Fouzul Hameed along with Parents Teachers’ Association. The Project Chairman, Nimnaz Rameez, and Secretary PTA, Hazmil Hamdoon, worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the success of the event.

The evening was filled with accolades, and one of the most anticipated moments was the presentation of the Performance Excellence Gold Award to Mrs. Maheesha Zarook for being selected as the best teacher of the college. Her exceptional contributions to education, co-curricular activities and special contribution towards bringing glory to the College were met with a standing ovation and confetti, making her moment of recognition even more special.

The Most Popular Teacher Award was presented to Mrs. P. Nishika Piushani, Sectional Head of Upper Primary – Sinhala, for her exceptional rapport with her colleagues and her support to the College events.

At the TRC 2024, Mr. Nuzrath Nalir, the Sectional Head of the Vocational Stream, was honored for his invaluable contribution to the section, highlighting his leadership and dedication. In addition, Ms. S.M.I. Erandika Wijerathne was presented with a token of appreciation for her exceptional commitment and pioneering initiatives that have significantly advanced the agricultural project of the College. Mr.M.Z.Farook, who served the College, his alma mater, in the field of Sports was also recognized for his unstinted support during his tenure.

On this day, over 275 teachers were recognized with Awards, Cash rewards and Gifts. The Gala event was filled with Entertainment, Raffle Draw and Fellowship. The Drama of the English Senior Section which clinched the championship of the Drama Competition held at the College under ‘Guru Talent’ was staged at the event.

The TRC 2024 concluded on a high note, reflecting the college’s unwavering commitment to excellence in its journey from ‘Good to Great’.
